What is magnetic face mask?

Magnetic mask is quite new innovation that became popular few years ago.  Magnetic masks are types of facial masks that combine traditional mask ingredients and iron particles.  Each mask comes with a magnet.  When magnet is hovered over magnetic particles, a magnetic micro-current is created. Mask is literally lifted from your skin with a magnet removing all environmental toxins, dirt, skin impurities, dead skin cells and unclogging pores.

This mask also increases blood flow thus promoting oxygenation and delivery of nutrients to the skin.

As mentioned above, magnetic masks can have additional benefits depending on ingredients added by a manufacturer.  Some masks might have anti-aging ingredients such as peptides, vitamins and minerals that help fighting signs of aging; other masks are infused with nourishing and moisturizing ingredients to assist in skin rejuvenation and hydration.

Do magnetic masks really work?

Well, scientists and doctors are still debating about benefits of magnetic face masks.

Magnetic treatments and micro-current have been used to heal wounds for a long time.  However, there is not enough evidence 100% supporting that magnetic masks are any better than regular masks.

Should you try magnetic masks?

I tried it and I liked it.  It is fun to apply and remove it.  Plus you are getting benefits of all wonderful ingredients that your mask contains.  So, why not give it a try.  Besides, you do not have to go with super expensive masks, many drug stores carry magnetic masks that are suitable for any budget.

I prefer magnetic mask over clay mask (that is also supposed to clear pores and skin impurities) simply because I do not have to wash magnetic mask off.  I do not know why, but I also have troubles with washing off the masks: water goes underneath my cloth and everywhere around my sink (I have to do a mini-cleaning after washing off face masks).  Since magnetic mask is not washed off, than mess problem is eliminated all together.

Also, since you do not use water to wash the mask off, you are avoiding drying effects of water (which is usually restored with a toner).

How to use magnetic face mask?

Wash your face using double-cleansing method

Use spatula that comes with a kit to apply a thin layer over the face avoiding areas around your eyes and lips.  Leave mask for 10-15 minutes.

Most masks have a small cloth included in the kit.  Wrap the magnet with the cloth and run near skin surface (you do not have to touch your skin). You will see that mask will be instantly removed wherever magnet goes.  I actually used a small piece of paper towel instead of cloth as you might need to repeat this few times to clean your entire face.

Massage remaining products into your skin.  You do not need to wash mask off.

Follow up with your usual skin care moisturizers and creams.

I personally tried Biovene Barcelona Charcoal Magnet Mask

You can pick up this magnetic mask at Wal-Mart for $14.97.  I bought it at local Marshall’s for around the same price but in Canadian dollars.  I included the link to ebay where you can also shop for magnetic masks.

This mask contains iron particles, activated charcoal and is infused with natural face oils such as Safflower seed oil, Sweet almond oil, Jojoba seed oil, Lavender oil to nourish, moisturize and tighter your skin.  It also contains Vitamin E to fight signs of aging.  It is suitable for any skin type.

This mask really left my skin soft and hydrated.  It leave a moisturizing deposit on your skin similar to serum or essence; do not wash it off, your skin will reabsorb it.  Thus I felt effect of the mask long after its removal.

I did not really notice any effect on blackheads or pores to be honest (however, enlarged pores and blackheads is one of my major skin problems and I usually need BHAs or AHAs and manual removing to minimize and clear out pores).  I would recommend this mask to anyone and definitely would buy more.
