Dear, Klairs – Supple Preparation Facial Toner, Review

Dear, Klairs – Supple Preparation Facial Toner has received an extensive list of awards by many magazines and cosmetic companies. It was ranked #1 Best Toner on Glowpick.

Toners are a very important step in our skin care routine; this step following skin cleansing.

Why do we need a toner?

When we cleanse our face, no matter how gentle we are, we still cause some imbalances in skin’s pH and still strip some natural skin oil.  Changes in pH and lack of skin oil can lead to damage in protective skin barrier, skin redness, irritation and dryness.

It takes about 1 hour for our skin to restore disturbed pH and skin oil removal.  We can speed up this process by applying a facial toner.

Benefits of a toner

There are many, many benefits of using a facial toner.  I am inviting you to read my extensive article Four reasons why you need a toner by following the link HERE.

All toners are designed to complete 2 major jobs:

1)      Bring skin’s pH to healthy balance (which is about 5.5)

2)      Restore moisture and hydration that is lost during cleansing.

Depending on a product, many more amazing things could be done a particular toner starting from brightening, whitening to anti-aging and lifting.

As I mentioned there are many, many toners on the market and it could be very hard to pick one for yourself.

I hope you will find my review helpful to make a decision.

What is Dear, Klairs brand?

The brand came around 2009, so it is relatively young  brand.

According to brand’s philosophy, they do not use harsh ingredients, do not test their products on animals and make their products affordable by anyone.

Also, brand concentrates on products for sensitive skin, so any skin type can use its products (if a person with sensitive skin can safely use the product, than, in fact, person with any skin type is able to use it as well).

Contraindications

1.       As with any product, you might be allergic or sensitive to one/few components for a product.

2.       Always perform a patch test before applying to the whole face.

3.       I did not find any restrictions to use for pregnant and lactating women.  However, always talk to your doctor, when in doubt.

How to use the toner

There several ways you can apply a toner.  I go over all of them in THIS blog post.

I simply splash a generous amount of liquid in my coned palm (generous means about 1-1.5 tea spoon) and “wash” my face with a product.  If I need more – I’ll add more.  If it is too much – well, no harm done, it just means that it will a tiny bit longer for a product to absorb and dry.

I use it in the morning and at night after washing my face.  And many times through the day if I feel it.

This toner is perfect for 7 Skin Method – one of the easiest and fastest ways to moisturize and hydrate your skin and get that “dew” glowing look.

My impression of Subtle Preparation Toner

1.       It comes in a very large, dark bottle.  This toner will last you for a very long time

2.       Liquid is clear, has some pinky tint to it.

3.       Toner has a very interesting flowery smell, which is neither annoying, nor disturbing.  I find it very pleasant.

4.       Product quickly sips into the skin leaving it hydrated and soft.

5.       As I mentioned, it is a perfect toner for 7 Skin Method.

6.       I did not have any allergic reactions to this toner.

7.       I simply love it and really miss it (because I am out; I cannot order it yet, because products do not get delivered to Canada from Korea due to the pandemic).
