Jayjun Okra Green Mask – Review

Hydration is extremely important for our skin. Hydrated skin looks glowing, plumped. Wrinkles and fine lines look less visible. Also hydrated skin has better elasticity and toner.

I think I mentioned many times that I am in love with products by Jayjun company.  It came to the point that once I see the product by this company, I always buy it because I know it will be good.

I’ve tried a lot of products and I thought that nothing can really impress me.

However, when I tried Jayjun Okra Green Mask I can honestly say – I am impressed.

Currently, this is one of my favorite masks and I know for sure that I will repurchase it in the future.

Let’s explore this wonderful mask.

Jayjun Okra Green Mask

This mask promises to revitalize and nourish your skin.  It contains okra and green herb complex that helps to restore bounce and resilience of the skin.

As per manufacturer this mask is suitable for all skin types.  You can use it daily which is so good for me during cold winter season.  It is cold in Canada right now and all places are heated up with hot air which is very, very drying to my skin.

Not all sheet masks are meant to be used on a daily basis, so I am quite thrilled that this mask is suitable for daily use.

Main ingredients of mask essence

Essence has very, very pale green color and has very light floral and fruity smell.  The mask sheet is very soft and is soaked in essence.  I have enough liquid to apply to the neck and chest.

Hibiscus Esculentus Fuit Extract (Okra Extract 1,000 pm) – okra helps maintain a younger looking skin. It aids in repairing the body tissues.  Okra extract has a very large amount of antioxidants including Vitamin C – all of them contribute to age spots brightening, glowing skin tone and production of collagen.   Antioxidants are very famous for their anti-aging effects to our skin.

Okra also has excellent moisturizing and hydrating properties.

Centella Asiatica Extract – is a herb that grows in Asia.  It is rich in antioxidants and amino acids.  It has several names including gotu kola, tiger grass and pennywort.  It is also an amazing hydrating ingredient.  It has exceptional anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that are why it is a very common ingredient in anti-acne and soothing products.

Artemisia Vulgaris Extract (Mugwort extract) mugwort is becoming a trending ingredient in today’s cosmetics.  I have an extensive post about this herb and its benefits, please, follow THIS link.  According to The Klog, this is the best way to describe this herb: “Most well-known for its antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, mugwort soothes, heals, and nourishes the skin, helping treat redness, psoriasis, and other skin sensitivities. Mugwort is also packed with antioxidants and vitamin E that help protect and nourish the skin barrier” (source)

mugwort uses

Houttuynia Cordata Extract – houttuynia cordata is a flowering plant that grows in South Asia.  It contains flavonoids which are famous for their anti-inflammatory properties.  They are also considered to be a very strong antioxidant (contributes to fading age spots, boosting collagen production and skin tone brightening).   It also has amazing hydrating properties (it is a humectant meaning that it boosts skin’s ability to hold on to water molecules).

Phaseolus Radiatus Seed Extract – another potent antioxidant with hydrating properties.  It also has an ability to nourish skin on a deep level.

Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract (white birch) – anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredient, meaning it is good in fighting acne, redness and skin inflammation.  It is also an antioxidant.

Rumex Crispus Root Extract (yellow dock) – very strong anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory ingredient that will also fight acne and reduce skin redness.

Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract – regulates oil build up in pores which leads to clear pores and regulated oil production.  Grapefruit extract is also excellent in reducing skin inflammation and redness.

This mask does not contain parabens.

As you can see this mask is loaded with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients.  What I really found interesting is that this mask does not contain any hyaluronic acid (or sodium hyaluronate).  Honestly, I love that because I started getting tired of that sticky feeling that hyaluronic acid leaves on the surface of the skin (this sticky feeling quickly goes away once you apply a moisturizer over).

I appreciate all the benefits that sodium hyaluronate does to my skin, but it is nice to have a mask that delivers amazing hydration and does not leave sticky residue.

It also has a fair number of calming ingredients which will sooth irritated and dry skin.

Mask sheet

Lotus Tencel sheet provides comfortable fit of the mask base to the skin, sheet fits face counter perfectly with almost no creases.  That allows increased ingredient absorption and efficiency.

How to use Jayjun Okra Mask

You would use this sheet mask as any other sheet mask.

1.      Clean your face (you can read post on how to properly clean your face at home)

2.      Apply toner

3.      Open mask package, remove the sheet and apply sheet mask to your face

4.      Place firmly and pat over your face with fingers.

5.      Leave on for 10-20 minute

6.      Remove the sheet, let essence dry and follow up with moisturizer or face cream

My impression

I think I already made it clear – I am in love with this mask.

As I mentioned earlier, I really love how this mask is able to boost my skin’s hydration without leaving sticky residue on the surface.

My skin feels very hydrated and rejuvenated for sure.  It looks and feels calmer and visibly brighter even after the first use.

I am really impressed how well all ingredients absorb into my skin.

Sometimes I use this mask in the morning before work (I apply it on my face and carry on with preparing lunches for all family members). As I mentioned earlier, it is a heating season in Canada with dry heat blowing in every house and building, so my skin just craves hydration.

By the time I am done with lunches, the time is up for the mask; I apply light moisturizer on top of it and continue with my makeup.

I had no allergic reactions.

I am already planning to purchase another package and monitoring sales on ebay.

Stay beautiful!!!!
