Yeast is a microscopic fungi, that is used – well, you guessed it – to make beer. Brewer’s yeast is dried inactive yeast and has no fermentation power.
And yes, we are using yeast for hair!!!
There are 2 types of beer yeast: dry and liquid. Both types have the same benefits, however, our body will absorb liquid yeast faster.

What does yeast do to your hair?
Prevent Hair loss
One of the main causes of hair loss is a lack of biotin in the human body. Brewer’s yeast is an amazing source of biotin, which belongs to vitamin B-complex. Insufficient amount of biotin in the body reduces the rate of division and regeneration of hair cells.
And, as already mentioned, brewer’s yeast is reach in vitamins B, D, E, F, PP, organic protein, amino acids, sorbents, lipids, chemical elements (zinc, iron, potassium, magnesium, selenium and manganese), and enzymes.
Collectively, all these “goodies” prevent hair loss.
Assist in Hair growth
Brewer’s yeast also has an invaluable benefit for hair growth. Vitamins B complex and PP (Nicotinamide), which are part of yeast, activate circulation in the deep layers of the epidermis. That allows an increase blood flow to the hair follicles, thereby providing them with nutrients.

I use to take Brewer’s Yeast years ago for energy and also my hair. It seemed to work great and now I have been looking for it for my daughter as well as for myself because of hair loss for me and both for her. I used the brand Nature Made ir Spring Valley, but as of right now I can’t find either. My question is, I am taking a multi vitamin, plus B Complex and Biotin and wonder, should I add Brewer’s Yeast as well? I really want hers to stop falling out and for mine to grow back in. I also take thyroid meds because I don’t have one, but have never had this problem before. I lost my hair twice and it came back. My daughter is going through menopause and thinks that is the reason for her. She doesn’t take any hormones.
I really appreciate your article about this, but still have questions. Is it better to stop taking B- Complex and Tahoe Brewers Yeast instead?
Hi, I think it is better to talk to the doctor about it. There are a lot of things going on with your health, it’s wiser to talk to a professional.
